/tass/. The Armed Forces of Ukraine on Monday fired three missiles from the HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS) at the Antonovsky Bridge near Kherson, currently the bridge is functioning. This was stated by the deputy head of the military-civil administration of the Kherson region Kirill Stremousov.
"Three missiles from HIMARS arrived, our [air defense] worked as always promptly. The bridge is functioning, but it is an emergency one, no one rides on it," he said.
Stremousov noted that the purpose of the APU strikes is not the Antonovsky Bridge, but a crossing for civilians. "They are trying to get on the ferry again, on civilians, to get on the ferry to intimidate people," he said.
According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are conducting chaotic and uncontrolled shelling of the Antonovsky Bridge.
"Antonovsky Bridge is constantly being shelled despite the fact that in fact it has been closed for a long time. <...> Chaotic, already virtually uncontrolled shooting, which is being conducted now on the bridge," he said in a video recorded directly on the Antonovsky Bridge and published in the Telegram channel. "<...> Here is another blow that was inflicted directly by HIMARS. <...> But the bridge is intact."
Antonovsky Bridge is the only road bridge connecting Kherson with a part of the Kherson region on the other bank of the Dnieper. The APU has been shelling the bridge a lot lately. At the moment, a ferry has been organized.
