TSAMTO, September 12. By the Day of the Tanker, which this year is celebrated on September 11, TSAMTO publishes statistical material on world exports in the segment of armored vehicles.
According to TSAMTO, in the period 2013-2020, the volume of global deliveries of armored vehicles is estimated at $ 52.962 billion, which is 8.83% of sales of all categories of weapons.
With this indicator, armored vehicles take 5th place in the world ranking for certain categories of weapons.
For reference:By value parameter, export sales volumes for the period 2013-2020 were distributed as follows:
1. Aviation equipment – 195.259 billion dollars (32.57% of sales of all categories of VIVT);
2. Helicopter equipment – $100.467 billion (16.76%);
3. Naval equipment – $70.194 billion (11.71%);
4. Air defense assets – $54.425 billion (9.08%);
5. Armored vehicles – $52.962 billion (8.83%);
6. Rocket and artillery armament – $24.303 billion (4.05%);
7. Unmanned aerial vehicles – $16.481 billion (2.75%).
All other types of ViVT accounted for $85.399 billion (14.25%).
In general, the total volume of world exports of conventional weapons (according to the classification of the UN Register) in 2013-2020 is estimated by the CAMTO at $599.490 billion, including $55.594 billion in 2013, $67.254 billion in 2014, $73.643 billion in 2015, and $ 79,007 billion dollars, in 2017 – 80.786 billion dollars, in 2018 – 76.711 billion dollars, in 2019 – 80.514 billion dollars and in 2020 – 85.980 billion dollars.
The maximum sales volume in the armored vehicles segment was recorded in 2015 – $ 8,259 billion, the minimum figure was in 2014 – $ 4,938 billion.
The share of armored vehicles in the total balance of the global arms trade in the period under review ranged from 6.18% in 2017 to 11.22% in 2013.
The leader of sales in the segment of armored vehicles are armored combat vehicles (BBM) – $ 25.370 billion in the period 2013-2020, which is 47.9% of total sales in this segment. The largest volume of supplies of BBM for the period under review in value terms was in 2015 – $ 4.376 billion, the minimum – in 2013 – $ 1.841 billion.
The second place in the armored vehicles segment is occupied by main battle tanks (MBT) – $ 16.179 billion in the period 2013-2020, which is 30.55% of total sales in this segment. The largest volume of OBT supplies for the period under review in value terms was in 2016 – $ 2.947 billion, the minimum – in 2019 ($913.5 million).
The third place in the segment of armored vehicles is occupied by armored vehicles – $ 6.215 billion in the period 2013-2020, which is 11.73% of the total sales of armored vehicles. The largest volume of deliveries of armored vehicles for the period under review in value terms was in 2017 – $ 1.168 billion, the minimum – for 20120 – $ 465.2 million.
The fourth place in the segment of armored vehicles is occupied by armored vehicles of the MRAP class – 5,198 billion dollars in the period 2013-2020, which is 9.81% of the total sales of armored vehicles. The largest volume of deliveries of armored vehicles of the MRAP class for the period under review in value terms was in 2015 – $ 1.330 billion, the minimum – in 2017 – $ 274.6 million.
