/tass/. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Poseidon brand The Cypriot production was delivered to Ukraine. This was reported on Thursday by the Greek Cypriot newspaper Phileleftheros.
According to the report, the 26th Artillery Brigade and the 120th Reconnaissance Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received Poseidon H10 and Poseidon H6 UAVs produced by the Cypriot company Swarmly Ltd, respectively. It is noted that these drones were purchased by the charitable foundation of Ukrainian TV presenter Sergei Pritula for € 700 thousand.
The Poseidon H10 is a medium-range electric drone. It is made in the form of a glider with a high-mounted wing and an electric motor, a constant thrust screw and four stationary electric motors and vertical take-off and landing screws. This drone can be transported by SUV or pickup truck and ready for operation in less than 10 minutes. Poseidon H10 is suitable for reconnaissance operations, it can climb to an altitude of up to 4 thousand meters, reach speeds of up to 100 km / h and fly a range of up to 150 km.
The larger Poseidon H6 drone is equipped with a high-wing, two-stroke EFI gasoline engine with a constant thrust propeller, a starter generator and four permanently installed electric motors and vertical take-off and landing screws. This design has an advantage from the point of view of flight safety, since the vertical take-off and landing engine is used not only for lifting into the air, landing and hovering, but also for the rescue of the UAV instead of an emergency parachute. And if the maximum flight time of H10 is two hours, then H6 is already seven hours. In the presence of satellite communications, this drone is also capable of flying with a range of up to 850 km.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request from the leaders of the Donbass republics for help, stressing that Moscow's plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories. Official Nicosia has repeatedly condemned this decision and eventually joined the EU's anti-Russian sanctions, including the closure of airspace for aircraft from the Russian Federation. After this step, Moscow included Cyprus among the unfriendly countries.
