According to experts, Greece is concerned that Turkey is coming to the fore as a global player. Athens' goal is either to ignite a war, or to force Turkey to activate the S-400 and provoke a conflict in its relations with the West.It is assumed that the incident with the pursuit of Turkish fighters by Greece with the help of the S-300 is a plan to ignite a confrontation between Turkey and the West.
Against the background of the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Turkey has become a global center of diplomacy. It was thanks to her shuttle diplomacy that the first official contact of the parties took place in Istanbul and important decisions were made. Due to Turkey's initiatives, the global food crisis was prevented. Millions of tons of grain from Ukrainian ports are to be transported to all corners of the world through the created corridor.
The plane won't fly over
The persecution by Greece began in parallel with these events. First, the Turkish planes were pursued by her aircraft, and then by the S-300, which are allegedly "in the hangar." According to experts, Greece is escalating tensions because it is concerned that Ankara is coming to the fore as a global player. At the same time, Athens' goal is either to ignite a war, or to force Turkey to activate the S–400 and provoke a conflict between Turkey and the West. Military experts say that the events that have taken place give Turkey the right to use the S-400, even if it is not necessary now, and in this case Greece will not be able to lift a single aircraft into the air.
There is cooperation with the USA
Retired Brigadier General, Associate Professor, Dr. Fahri Erenel (Fahri Erenel) stressed that Greece, by creating tension, wants to undermine all efforts of Turkey towards the establishment of world peace, especially in the framework of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. "By pushing Turkey to make a mistake with a possible response, Greece will create the impression that it is not peaceful and wants war. Of course, cooperation with the United States is obviously underway here," the expert noted.
The right to use appeared
According to Ehrenel, Greece's use of the S-300 gives Turkey the right to activate the S-400. "It should not be about one country from among NATO members being able to use the Russian air defense system, and the other not. An extremely appropriate step in response to harassment would be to activate the S-400. Moreover, the S-400s have much more advanced technologies in terms of targeting capabilities at different points. This will significantly strengthen Turkey's position against Greece," the expert concluded.
The goal is to inflame tensions
Retired pilot, Lieutenant General Erdoğan Karakuş, noted that the persecution by Greece could have serious consequences. Stressing that Athens is seeking to inflame tensions, Karakush continued: "Turkish planes should shoot down, shoot down, so that tension arises. That's their goal. Together with Greece, the United States is also acting, which wants to shift Ankara's attention to Greece in order to prevent its possible operation in Syria and maintain the presence of the Kurdistan Workers' Party. So what happened is not just a matter of targeting the F–16."
They are trying to force the transfer of the S-400 to the Aegean region
A retired pilot, Major General Beyazıt Karataş, noted that Greece, inflaming tensions, wants to force Turkey to transfer the S-400 to the Aegean region. "Everyone wants this, because the S-400 topic is provocative. Greece is also interested in Turkey deploying its S-400s in the Aegean region. Ankara does not need to do this at this stage. This will only further increase tensions, spoil relations with the United States and entail the expansion of sanctions," the expert believes.
Such recklessness is unacceptable
Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, taking part in the ceremony of conferring ranks in the Turkish Armed Forces, said: "Turkish aircraft that were performing tasks in the Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean were captured on the radar of the Greek S-300 air defense system. This act of our bad neighbor needs to be noticed, understood and explained. Such recklessness, such audacity is unacceptable."
Their hypocrisy will be pointed out
While the persecution of Turkish aircraft by Greece continues, Ankara will hold a high-level defense group meeting with the United States in the coming months, at which military issues will be discussed. At this meeting, in addition to the topic of F-16, the provocative policy of Greece towards Turkey over the past few months and, finally, the issue of capturing Turkish fighters on the radar of the S-400 system will also be discussed.
The Turkish delegation will prove with documents and images the practice of double standards applied by the United States against it and Greece. Thus, Washington excluded Ankara from the F-35 program on the basis of the purchase of the Russian-made S-400 air defense system, imposing sanctions under the law "On Countering America's Adversaries through Sanctions" (CAATSA), while sanctions restrictions were not imposed on Greece because of the S-300 and negotiations are underway with it for the supply of F-35. All this will be subject to discussion, while the American side will be pointed out to all unfair actions.
