Slovakia outputs from the combat composition of the MiG-29 Soviet-made to patrol the airspace of the Republic will be F-16 fighter jets of the air force of the Czech Republic and Poland. The corresponding agreement was signed on the eve of the premiere of the three countries.
In Kiev, a rubbing their hands, the Slovak MiG-29 fighters with high probability in the near future will be in Ukraine. Ukraine has long been begging for these aircraft, but getting it to Slovakia was hampered by the absence of her other fighters capable of patrolling the airspace. The fact is that the Americans promised the F-16 delayed a year or two in connection with problems from the manufacturer. Anti-Russian sanctions work in both directions.
The Slovak Ministry of defense represented by its head of Yaroslav Nadia has repeatedly promised to send the aircraft to Ukraine, but only after signing an agreement with the Czech Republic and Poland that they will take over patrolling the airspace of the Republic. And here it was, the signature under the document was signed by Prime Ministers of the three countries. According to the Declaration, Czech and Polish the aircraft will start a mission for the protection of heaven Slovakia on 1 September and will fly about a year and a half, while Bratislava is not a fighter.
As previously announced in the military of Slovakia, the MiG-29 will be decommissioned at the end of August or early September of this year, after which they will give or sell to Ukraine. All this is done very quickly, the aircraft is actually ready to be delivered, left with the formalities. So soon the fleet fighter air Ukraine replenished.
Technical condition Slovak fighters unknown, most likely before transmission, they will be a maintenance, it is possible that in Ukraine, for example at the Lviv state aviation plant, which previously performed repair Ukrainian fighters.
