The crews of the Su-25 assault aircraft carried out missile air strikes on military facilities and equipment of the units of the armed formations of Ukraine (VFU). The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Sunday, August 28, showed footage of the successful performance of combat missions by Russian servicemen.
Rocket launches were carried out in pairs from low altitudes. As a result of strikes by Russian aircraft, camouflaged fortified field positions and armored vehicles of the nationalists were destroyed. After the sorties, the specialists of the engineering and technical staff completed the tasks of servicing aircraft and preparing aviation equipment for a second combat flight.
Earlier, on August 12, Russian Su-25 attack aircraft eliminated enemy armored vehicles and field positions of militants. The peculiarity of these aircraft is flying at extremely low altitudes — 10-20 m . Thanks to this, the enemy either cannot notice the Russian attack aircraft in time, or does not have time to open fire on them, which gives the pilots a sense of security.
Prior to that, on July 23, Su-25 attack aircraft also carried out missile air strikes on military facilities and equipment of the VFU. As a result of the successful completion of the task, the radicals' armored vehicles and enemy camouflaged positions were put out of action.
Russia continues the special operation to protect Donbass, which President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24. A few days earlier, the situation in the region had significantly worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. The authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics announced the evacuation of residents to the Russian Federation, and also appealed to Moscow for help. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the independence of the DPR and the LPR.
