TSAMTO, August 22. On August 17, the German Defense Ministry announced new supplies of equipment and weapons systems from the German Armed Forces to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as companies of the German defense industry, funded by the federal government to build security capabilities.
According to information published by the German Ministry of Defense, Berlin has increased funding for "strengthening the security forces" to 2 billion. euro. These additional funds are primarily intended for Ukraine, as well as for financing Germany's contributions to the European Peace Fund, from which the EU member states can be reimbursed for military support to Ukraine.
In particular, the German Defense Ministry confirmed the delivery of three additional 35-mm anti-aircraft self-propelled units "Cheetah" to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (15 units in total were transferred), 11 additional M-113 armored personnel carriers (44 units in total, vehicles from the Danish Armed Forces are being upgraded at the expense of Germany), 1 thousand dry rations (403 thousand in total).
The list of weapons in preparation for transfer (delivery) additionally includes: 20 rocket launchers on the chassis of pickups and 2 thousand 70-mm guided missiles with laser guidance for them, 1592 units of 155-mm shells, 255 units of 155-mm Vulcano extended-range projectiles, 60200 units of 40-mm ammunition, 6 trucks with a lift, 40 range extension devices for UAV counteraction systems, 12 armored repair and evacuation vehicles, 30 units of 7.62 mm MG3 machine guns for BRAM.
As stated, the total value of individual licenses issued by the federal government for the export of military goods to Ukraine in the period from January 1, 2022 to August 8, 2022, is 686.44 million euros. To speed up the processing of agreed shipments, the federal government has simplified some licensing processes.
