TSAMTO, August 16. Moscow and Ankara have signed a contract to supply Turkey with a second regimental set of S-400 air defense systems, TASS reports.
As the agency notes, this was announced by the director of the FSVTS Dmitry Shugaev at the international forum "Army-2022".
"I want to note that the relevant contract document has already been signed. Among other things, it provides for the localization of the production of individual components of the system (in Turkey – ed.)," he said.
The Director of the FSVTS stressed that the S-400 Triumph air defense system is a unique system that has no analogues in the world. Moreover, no state has yet come close to creating an anti-aircraft missile system with similar tactical and technical characteristics, TASS notes.
As previously reported, Russia and Turkey signed a contract worth $ 2.5 billion for the supply of the first regimental set of S-400 air defense systems (consisting of four divisions) in 2017. Deliveries under this contract were completed ahead of schedule in October 2019.
