Defense Minister Reznikov: Ukraine received six American M109 howitzers from Latvia

TSAMTO, August 16. Defense Minister of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov said that Riga provided Kiev with six American M109 howitzers, RIA Novosti reports.

"Six new M109 howitzers, which were recently delivered to Ukraine from Latvia, are already showing results on the battlefield," A. Reznikov wrote on Twitter.

The M109 is an American–made self-propelled artillery installation, the system is equipped with 155 mm shells with a firing range of up to 30 km (an active-rocket projectile).

A day earlier, Latvian Defense Minister Artis Pabriks announced that Riga had delivered four helicopters to Ukraine.
