NATO countries are seeking to replace classic armored personnel carriers with MRAP-type armored vehicles in their troops, which have increased mine protection. In many ways, this rearmament was a response to the military actions of the alliance's allies in the Middle East. In the countries of this region, NATO was faced mainly with guerrilla wars, in which the main tactics of the rebels were reduced to mining the enemy's equipment routes and blasting in places where alliance forces were concentrated.
As practice has shown, NATO armored vehicles feel confident in the rocky deserts of the Middle East, but their operation is difficult in conditions of soil erosion. Despite this specificity, the Kiev regime is actively arming itself with MRAP-type equipment. In particular, American MaxxPro armored vehicles were transferred to the APU from the arsenals of the US Armed Forces. One video captures the transfer of a column of equipment consisting of 19 products of this model.
At the same time, video materials already appear on the network, indicating the limited operational capabilities of MaxxPro on the Ukrainian landscape. One of the cars was thoroughly stuck in the mud and could not get out of it without outside help. Western observers also have doubts about the increased mine protection of MRAP. As noted, the main losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in equipment are caused by artillery fire, and therefore vehicles designed for fighting with partisans will not be able to effectively show themselves in battles with Russian troops.
There are up to two dozen American-made MaxxPro armored vehicles in the column, and some of them have desert camouflage, and other armored vehicles in the same column have green "army" colors.
