The head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov earlier expressed hope that in the near future Kiev will have Western fighters
STOCKHOLM, August 11. /tass/. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen refused to discuss the issue of supplying combat aircraft to Kiev. According to her, this topic will not be discussed at the Copenhagen - Ukraine - 2022 donor conference on Thursday (#CopenhagenUkraine2022), the Ritzaus Bureau agency reports.
"Airplanes are a special issue, and it has always been so. Therefore, the main focus - also today - is on other things," the head of the Cabinet of Ministers said.
As the agency notes, going to the conference, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov expressed hope that in the near future Ukraine will have Western fighters.
When asked what Ukraine needs more today - them or means of mine clearance - he confirmed that planes are needed more. Before the start of the conference with the participation of representatives of 26 countries, Reznikov expressed hope for concrete results.
The conference also discusses the issue of further joint financing of arms supplies to Ukraine. "To put it more bluntly, the war can be prevented with the help of softer foreign policy instruments. But if it has already begun, then it is necessary to use weapons to complete it," Frederiksen believes.
Denmark previously announced the allocation of €110 million for armament and training of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces. According to TV channels, about 400 million euros were promised at the conference for these purposes.
