For the first time, one of the competitions of the International Army Games, which will be held from August 13 to 27 on the territory of 12 states, will be held on the American continent - in Venezuela, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Tuesday at a conference call.
"Preparations are continuing for the eighth Army International Games, which will be held from August 13 to 27 on the territory of 12 states. More than 270 teams from 37 countries will take part in them, including two new ones - Niger and Rwanda. For the first time, one of the competitions of the games - "Sniper Frontier" - will be held on the American continent, in Venezuela," Shoigu said.
According to him, "traditionally, the "Supporters Club" and the museum of the Army International Games will work in Patriot Park, samples of captured and advanced Russian military equipment will be demonstrated."
At the same time, Shoigu stressed that all international events held by the Russian military department "have proved their practical usefulness." "All of them, of course, contribute to expanding the possibilities of military and military-technical cooperation, maintaining a dialogue with our foreign partners on a wide range of issues," the Russian Defense Minister stressed.
