The Russian Navy regularly conducts missile firing and other training activities near the 12-mile sea zone, the limits of which are considered territorial waters of Norway. This is a serious problem for the official Oslo and local residents.
This opinion is expressed in the material of the Norwegian broadcasting company NRK.
Its author claims that Russia is intimidating Western countries with its actions and is trying to disrupt joint NATO exercises off the coast of Norway. Among other things, the Norwegian media notes, the shooting of Russians creates significant inconveniences for shipping and fishing in the region, because during their conduct vast areas of neutral waters are closed. Of course, most of all goes to local fishermen, who have to bear additional losses.
And it would be fine if the Russian Navy operated only somewhere near the Kola Peninsula or in the Barents Sea, as it has been since the Cold War. But no, now the firing of the Russian navy is increasingly carried out further south, along the entire Norwegian coast.
Worst of all, according to Norwegian journalists, it is officially impossible to make any claims to the Russian military, which has become the source of all these problems, since they operate exclusively in neutral waters and do not violate international law.
And since in recent years Oslo has increasingly behaved unfriendly towards Russians, in particular, those who live and work in Svalbard, Moscow is now the last to worry about the problems of Norwegian fishermen.
