London. July 30. INTERFAX - Units of the British, American and Finnish armies are conducting exercises in Finland, while Helsinki continues preparations for joining NATO.
"About 150 employees of the British army and military pilots, together with partners from the United States and Finland, are taking part in the four-day Vigilant Fox exercises," Sky News reported on Saturday, citing the British Ministry of Defense.
"British soldiers stationed in Estonia went to Finland on Chinook helicopters for the exercises," the defense ministry said in a statement.
Earlier in July, it became known that the British Air Force sent four Typhoon fighters and two F-35 fighters for exercises in Finland and Sweden, the TV channel reminds.
In addition, in May Finland signed a declaration on mutual security guarantees with Great Britain, it is part of the Joint Expeditionary Force - a coalition of 10 countries under the command of Great Britain.
Finland and Sweden applied to join NATO on May 18. On June 29, the leadership of the alliance decided to invite countries to join the alliance.
