On July 18, the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov made a proposal to deploy air defense systems in the mountains of Chechnya. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
"In modern conditions, Russia needs new strategic military solutions. In this regard, there are many changes to be made, but first of all, I believe that air defense systems are in demand in the mountains of the Chechen Republic, on the southern borders of Russia, as never before," the head of Chechnya wrote.
Kadyrov clarified that a tank unit in the Shalinsky district would be a good place to deploy an air defense system base.
"Anything can be expected from the enemy at any moment, so we need proactive tactical measures," the head of the Chechen Republic summed up.
Earlier, on July 7, Kadyrov spoke about the need to finally destroy the remnants of terrorists who had previously fled the Chechen Republic and are now taking refuge in Kiev. He clarified that "settling accounts with the Shaitans who were rampaging" in Chechnya is a matter of principle.
Kadyrov also met with soldiers of the Akhmat special forces who returned to the region after the liberation of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR). The special forces demonstrated success during the special operation and stopped "speculation about the isolation" of the Chechen people from Russia, he noted, handing them awards.
