According to the actual supplies of VIVT, the BRICS countries are present in 27 of the 29 categories of conventional weapons

TSAMTO, July 14. Below are the ratings of the CAMTO of the positions of the BRICS countries on the actual supplies of VIVT for certain categories of weapons in 2013-2020. The BRICS countries are present in 27 of the 29 categories of ViVT.

For reference:

In general, the total volume of world exports of conventional arms (according to the classification of the UN Register) in 2013-2020 is estimated by the CAMTO at $599.490 billion, including $55.594 billion in 2013, $67.254 billion in 2014, $73.643 billion in 2015, and – 79,007 billion dollars, in 2017 – 80.786 billion dollars, in 2018 – 76.711 billion dollars, in 2019 – 80.514 billion dollars and in 202085.980 billion dollars.

By value parameter, export sales volumes for the period 2013-2020 were distributed as follows:

1. Aviation equipment (9 categories)195.259 billion dollars (32.57% of sales of all categories of VIVT);

2. Helicopter equipment (4 categories) – $100.467 billion (16.76%);

3. Naval equipment (3 categories) – $70.194 billion (11.71%);

4. Air defense systems (3 categories)54.425 billion dollars (9.08%);

5. Armored vehicles (4 categories)52.962 billion dollars (8.83%);

6. Rocket and artillery armament (3 categories) – $24.303 billion (4.05%);

7. Unmanned aerial vehicles (3 categories)$16.481 billion (2.75%).

All other types of ViVT accounted for $85.399 billion (14.25%).

Aviation topics (9 categories) The BRICS countries are present in 7 categories (with the exception of the categories "reconnaissance aircraft" and "AWACS aircraft").

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "multipurpose fighters" there are three BRICS countries (Russia, China and Brazil). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $23.365 billion. This amounts to 21.74% of the export volume of all suppliers of VIVT in the category of "multi-purpose fighters" (107.474 billion dollars).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 2nd ($20.214 billion), China ranks 5th ($3.150 billion), Brazil ranks 19th ($0.5 million). India and South Africa are not present in this category.

- In the category of "attack aircraft and bombers", the BRICS countries are represented only by Russia. The volume of Russian supplies in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $328.5 million. This is 33.19% of the export volume of all suppliers of VIVT in the category of "attack aircraft and bombers" ($990 million).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 1st.

- In the category of "tanker planes", the BRICS countries are represented only by Russia. The volume of Russian supplies in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $ 10 million. This amounts to 0.09% of the export volume of all VIVT suppliers in the category of "refueling aircraft" ($11.126 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 5th.

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "basic patrol aircraft" there are two BRICS countries (Russia and India). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $ 156 million. This amounts to 1.08% of the export volume of all VIVT suppliers in the "BPA aircraft" category ($14.398 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 5th ($140 million), India ranks 12th ($16 million). Brazil, India and South Africa are not present in this category.

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "military transport aircraft" there are three BRICS countries (Russia, China and Brazil). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $2.543 billion. This amounts to 9.24% of the export volume of all VIVT suppliers in the category of "military transport aircraft" ($27.535 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 4th ($1.708 billion), China ranks 5th ($655 million), Brazil ranks 10th ($180 million). India and South Africa are not present in this category.

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "combat training aircraft" there are three BRICS countries (Russia, Brazil and China). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to 3.167 billion dollars. This is 26.71% of the export volume of all suppliers of ViVT in the category of "military transport aircraft" ($11.855 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 4th ($1,180 billion), Brazil ranks 5th ($1,166 billion), China ranks 6th ($821 million). India and South Africa are not present in this category.

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "training aircraft" there are two BRICS countries (Brazil and China). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $ 134 million. This amounts to 1.74% of the export volume of all VIVT suppliers in the "training aircraft" category ($7.675 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Brazil ranks 6th ($129 million), China ranks 11th ($5 million). Russia, India and South Africa are not present in this category.

- In the category of "MALE and HALE class UAVs", the BRICS countries are represented only by China. The volume of China's supplies in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $3.620 billion. This is 29.43% of the export volume of all suppliers of ViVT in the category of "MALE and HALE class UAVs" ($12.298 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, China ranks 3rd.

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "tactical UAVs" there are two BRICS countries (South Africa and China). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $112.1 million. This is 3.56% of the export volume of all suppliers of VIV in the category of "tactical UAVs" ($3.145 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, South Africa ranks 6th ($58.1 million), China ranks 7th ($54 million). Russia, Brazil and India are not present in this category.

- Two BRICS countries (Russia and China) are among the exporting countries in the "mini- and micro-UAV" category. The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $ 11.3 million. This amounts to 1.09% of the export volume of all ViVT suppliers in the "mini- and micro-UAV" category ($1.037 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 4th ($10.3 million), China ranks 11th ($1 million). Brazil, India and South Africa are not present in this category.

- Two BRICS countries (Russia and China) are among the exporting countries in the "attack helicopters" category. The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $8.047 billion. This amounts to 28.95% of the export volume of all VIVT suppliers in the "attack helicopters" category ($27.801 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 2nd ($7,927 billion), China ranks 4th ($150 million). Brazil, India and South Africa are not present in this category.

- There are two BRICS countries (Russia and China) among the exporting countries in the "PLO helicopters" category. The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $ 625.5 million. This is 4.98% of the export volume of all suppliers of ViVT in the category of "PLO helicopters" ($12.558 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 5th ($465.5 million), China ranks 6th ($160 million). Brazil, India and South Africa are not present in this category.

- In the category of "heavy military transport helicopters", the BRICS countries are represented only by Russia. The volume of Russian supplies in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to 854 million dollars. This is 8.17% of the export volume of all suppliers of ViVT in the category of "heavy military transport helicopters" ($10.457 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 2nd.

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "multipurpose helicopters" there are three BRICS countries (Russia, India and China). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $ 10.146 billion. This amounts to 20.43% of the export volume of all VIVT suppliers in the category of "multi-purpose helicopters" (49.651 billion dollars).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 3rd ($8,716 billion), India ranks 6th ($918 million), China ranks 7th ($513 million). Brazil and South Africa are not present in this category.

- Two BRICS countries (Russia and China) are among the exporting countries in the category of "main-class combat surface ships". The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $ 5.579 billion. This amounts to 15.05% of the export volume of all ViVT suppliers in the BNK OK category ($37.060 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 4th ($3.620 billion), China ranks 9th ($1.959 billion). Brazil, India and South Africa are not present in this category.

- Among the exporting countries in the "submarines" category there are three BRICS countries (Russia, China and India). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $ 5.01 billion. This is 36.42% of the export volume of all suppliers of VIV in the category "submarines" ($13.760 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 2nd ($4.711 billion), China ranks 5th ($200 million), India ranks 6th ($100 million, repairs). Brazil and South Africa are not present in this category.

- Four BRICS countries (Russia, China, India and South Africa) are among the exporting countries in the category of "boats and small amphibious ships". The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $3,294 billion. This is 17% of the export volume of all suppliers of ViVT in the category of "boats and small amphibious ships" ($19.374 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 3rd ($1.862 billion), China ranks 5th ($1.329 billion), India ranks 13th ($473 million).), South Africa ranks 20th ($103 million). Brazil is not present in this category.

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "main battle tanks" there are three BRICS countries (Russia, China and Brazil). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to the CAMTO, to $ 8,152 billion. This is 42.5% of the export volume of all suppliers of ViVT in the "OBT" category ($16.179 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 1st ($6.824 billion), China ranks 4th ($1.328 billion), Brazil ranks 15th ($0.2 million). India and South Africa are not present in this category.

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "armored combat vehicles" there are four BRICS countries (Russia, China, Brazil and South Africa). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $ 5.320 billion. This amounts to 20.97% of the export volume of all ViVT suppliers in the "BBM" category ($25.370 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 2nd ($4.606 billion), China ranks 9th ($674.2 million), Brazil ranks 23rd ($30.5 million), South Africa ranks 29th ($9 million). India is not present in this category.

- All five BRICS countries are among the exporting countries in the "armored vehicles" category. The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $181.4 million. This amounts to 2.92% of the export volume of all VIVT suppliers in the category "armored vehicles" ($6.215 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 9th ($120.7 million), China ranks 10th ($93.6 million), South Africa ranks 13th ($65.7 million), India ranks 19th ($13.6 million), Brazil ranks 25th ($1.5 million).).

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "MRAP class armored vehicles" there are three BRICS countries (South Africa, China and Russia). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $ 1,150 billion. This amounts to 22.11% of the export volume of all VIVT suppliers in the category of "MRAP class armored vehicles" (5,198 billion dollars).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, South Africa ranks 2nd ($991.5 million), China ranks 6th ($150 million), Russia ranks 10th ($8 million). Brazil and India are not present in this category.

- Among the exporting countries in the "ATGM" category there are three BRICS countries (Russia, South Africa and China). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $2.565 billion. This amounts to 28.95% of the export volume of all VIVT suppliers in the "ATGM" category ($8.855 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 2nd ($2.5 billion), South Africa ranks 8th ($50 million), China ranks 9th ($14.5 million). Brazil and India are not present in this category.

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "MLRS" there are three BRICS countries (Russia, China and Brazil). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $4.948 billion. This is 59.32% of the export volume of all suppliers of ViVT in the category of "MLRS" ($8,340 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 1st ($2.07 billion), China ranks 3rd ($1.475 billion), Brazil ranks 4th ($1.402 billion). India and South Africa are not present in this category.

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "artillery guns and mortars" there are three BRICS countries (China, Russia and South Africa). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to the CAMTO, to $ 1.031 billion. This is 14.5% of the export volume of all suppliers of VIVT in the category of "artillery guns and mortars" (7,108 billion dollars).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, China ranks 4th ($555 million), Russia ranks 6th ($455 million), South Africa ranks 19th ($20.5 million). Brazil and India are not present in this category.

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "anti-aircraft missile systems" there are two BRICS countries (Russia and China). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $17.709 billion. This represents 36.3% of the export volume of all suppliers of VIV in the category of "anti-aircraft missile systems" (48.783 billion dollars).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 2nd ($15.395 billion), China ranks 4th ($2.314 billion). Brazil, India and South Africa are not present in this category.

- Two BRICS countries (Russia and China) are among the exporting countries in the category of "anti-aircraft artillery installations". The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to 175 million dollars. This amounts to 5.06% of the export volume of all VIVT suppliers in the category "ZAU" ($3.458 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 3rd ($105 million), China ranks 6th ($70 million). Brazil, India and South Africa are not present in this category.

- Among the exporting countries in the category of "MANPADS" there are two BRICS countries (Russia and China). The volume of supplies of the BRICS countries in this category in 2013-2020 amounted, according to CAMTO, to $ 1.329 billion. This is 60.86% of the export volume of all suppliers of VIVT in the category of "MANPADS" ($2.184 billion).

In the overall ranking of suppliers in this category, Russia ranks 1st ($1.095 billion), China ranks 3rd ($234.5 million). Brazil, India and South Africa are not present in this category.

In general, among the BRICS countries, Russia is present in 24 categories out of 29, Chinain 23 categories, Brazilin 8 categories, South Africain 7 categories and Indiain 5 categories.
