Representatives of the US administration claim to have received intelligence about Iran's alleged intentions to supply drones to Russia. This kind of statement was made by the adviser to the American president on national security issues, Jake Sullivan.
According to Sullivan, "there is evidence that Iran is going to transfer drones to Russia in a short time."
Sullivan:
Such words were expressed by an American official during a briefing held at the White House. At the same time, Sullivan said that he had no data on whether Iran had previously (recently) carried out such deliveries against Russia.
Neither Tehran nor Moscow comment on these statements.
It should be noted that Iran has been developing drones for a long time. Among them is the Mohajer family, related to tactical UAVs. The family includes a modification of the Raad – a strike version of the kamikaze drone.
Since 2009, Iran has been operating various versions of the Karrar UAV. This is a reconnaissance and strike drone. The flight range for the strike version is 500 km, for the reconnaissance version – up to 1000 km. It is noteworthy that this drone was used by Iran as a means of hitting not only ground targets, but also air targets – with the use of air-to-air missiles in this case.
There are also a number of other Iranian operated drones, including the Shahed UAV. It can be equipped, among other things, with Sadid-1 anti-tank missiles.
