Denmark has supplied Ukraine with American-made M113G4DK armored personnel carriers (APCs) with additional protection. Eyewitnesses noticed M113G4DK from the Ukrainian military, 19FortyFive reports with reference to Ukraine Weapons Tracker.
It is noted that the car received a set of additional protection and a Browning M2 heavy machine gun. Also, the APC was equipped with new engines. Denmark handed over 54 M113G3DK and M113G4DK armored personnel carriers to Ukraine.
The publication reminds that in June Switzerland vetoed the supply of Piranha III wheeled vehicles, so Ukraine was supplied with M113.
The M113G3DK received a 300 horsepower diesel engine with a ZF LSG 1000 transmission and a reinforced suspension that allows additional URDAN protection to be installed. The car was also equipped with an improved control system. In 2011, the M113G4DK was introduced with additional bottom protection, new tracks and seats.
In May, it became known that Ukraine received infantry fighting vehicles (BMP) YPR-765, which are built on the basis of the M113 armored personnel carrier.
In the same month, the Pentagon showed M113s on video, which were being prepared for shipment to Ukraine at an army base in Georgia.
