NASA has condemned the use of the International Space Station (ISS) for political purposes. The agency commented on the photo of Russian cosmonauts at the station with the flag of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), writes the Washington Post (WP) with reference to the agency's statement.
The agency was outraged by the picture taken by the participants of the 67th expedition. The statement noted that NASA "strongly condemns the use of the International Space Station for political purposes" to support the special operation in Ukraine.
NASA added that this "fundamentally contradicts the main function of the station among the 15 international participating countries to promote science and technology development for peaceful purposes."
Earlier, the head of NASA, Bill Nelson, suggested that China could land on the Moon in the future and declare it its territory.
In May, Roscosmos installed a Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the inscription "Donbass" on the Vostok launch complex of the Baikonur cosmodrome. The state corporation noted that the launch of the Progress MS-20 spacecraft will be dedicated to Donbass.
