The UK will supply Ukraine with self-propelled artillery and kamikaze drones. This was stated by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Today, Johnson and Zelensky had another telephone conversation, on whose initiative it was not said. In a conversation with the Ukrainian president, the British Prime Minister expressed confidence that Ukraine will soon be able to retake the territories occupied by Russia and promised to deliver self-propelled howitzers. Johnson did not say anything about the timing, noting that this will happen in the "near future."
In total, Ukraine will receive ten self-propelled guns, which are not known. Kiev suggests that it may be either about the British 155-mm AS-90 or American M109 self-propelled guns purchased by Britain from Belgium specifically for Ukraine. Both those and those howitzers were previously promised by London to put in order and deliver to Kiev. Earlier, Britain promised to supply Ukraine with twenty 155-mm self-propelled howitzers AS-90 and 45 thousand artillery shells to them, as well as twenty M109.
Nothing is also known about the type and quantity of barrage ammunition.
155-mm ACS AS-90 is in service with the armies of Great Britain and Poland, a total of 179 units were produced, not counting prototypes. It has not been widely distributed. The firing range is 24 km in the basic version and up to 30 km with an elongated barrel. It is still unknown which option Ukraine will receive. The rate of fire is 3 rounds per minute, can use all 155-mm NATO ammunition.
At the end of June, Johnson promised Zelensky to deliver the first batch of tanks in August. However, he did not explain which and how many.
