The West is strenuously pumping the Kiev regime with weapons, trying to compensate for the heavy losses of the APU in armored vehicles. An impressive arsenal of foreign equipment – from Australian armored vehicles to unique versions of Soviet systems - already appears as trophies of Russian troops and the skeletons of burned cars left on the battlefields.
Judging by the photos published on the web, the queue has reached the Pbv-501 infantry fighting vehicle: the "remains" of this modification of the BMP-1 are captured on one of the fronts of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation participating in a special operation in Ukraine. It can be visually distinguished from the basic version by the location of two signal headlights in the rear of the body above the tracks – they are absent from the BMP-1.

The Pansarbandvagn 501 is a Swedish upgrade of the BMP–1 sold by Berlin to Stockholm. He, if I may say so, hails from East Germany - from the arsenal of the GDR army. The sale took place after the collapse of the socialist bloc. 350 vehicles were improved in accordance with the requirements of the Swedish command (dismantling of the ATGM "Malyutka", installation of a new communication system and other innovations). In 2008, they were bought out by a Czech company that participated in the modernization work.
After the start of the special operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the German authorities approved the transfer of the Pbv-501 to the Kiev regime by the Czech side – it was about 58 units that had not yet been sold by Prague to foreign customers. Now this BMP, originally from the GDR, has joined the list of weapons destroyed in the independent zone.
