The calculation of the electronic warfare complex "Krasukha-S4" suppressed the radar station (radar) of the Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of the combat duty of the calculation of the electronic warfare complex of the Central Military District during a special military operation in Ukraine, reports TASS .
Electronic warfare specialists demonstrated scanning of airspace, detection and classification of aerial objects, and also conducted suppression of the onboard radar of a Ukrainian reconnaissance drone.
The military notes that the characteristics of the Krasukha-S4 complex make it possible to detect all types of aerial targets, including those moving at extremely low altitude. The software and hardware of the complex affect the onboard equipment of the air object, forcing it to gain altitude. This makes the target accessible to air defense means.
The commander of the EW company reported that the Krasukha-S4 affects the enemy's airborne aviation systems, preventing targeted strikes, performing sabotage maneuvers at low altitude and scouting the location of troops. After the object is suppressed, its coordinates are transmitted to the air defense and destroyed. He added that the main target is low-flying attack aircraft.
In February, Popular Science magazine reported that the Russian electronic warfare systems Krasukha-2 and Krasukha-4 are capable of blocking signals from the satellite navigation system, as well as interfering with the normal operation of high-tech military equipment.
