Earlier, military expert Alexey Leonkov told what the uniqueness of the latest S-500 Prometheus air defense system is. He explained that Prometheus is unique in that, according to its characteristics, it occupies an intermediate position between air defense and missile defense complexes, as if linking them into a single whole. In his opinion, when the S-500 enters service with the army, Russia will form a unified aerospace echeloned defense system.
The S-500 (Prometheus) is a Russian anti—aircraft missile system being developed as a new generation of anti-aircraft missile systems. The damage radius of the S-500 is about 600 kilometers.
