On June 20, Izvestia correspondent Kirill Olkov showed a video of the work of Ka-52 Alligator helicopters during a special operation to protect Donbass.
The Russian Air Force performs daily tasks to destroy positions and equipment of militants. One of the aircraft performing these tasks is the Ka-52 Alligator. They carry heavy weapons capable, according to military pilots, of tearing off towers to enemy tanks, as well as a unique protection system for the helicopter and crew, which even includes a pilot ejection device.
The pilots carry out the attack at extremely low altitude. They work in pairs, the coordinates are corrected right in flight. The positions of the Ukrainian nationalists are 10 km away, but all of them are successfully hit by the Russian military.
"We set a combat task to destroy the strong points from which artillery was directed at our troops. Found, discovered, destroyed. They disguised themselves as a residential building," says crew commander Alexander.
Helicopter pilots cover each other, because their opponent regularly tries to shoot them down.
"This car has already come under heavy fire from small—caliber weapons, so even from this side, fresh patches can be seen on the gondola," says stormtrooper operator Daniil.
The helicopter cabin can withstand a 23-millimeter shell and even a hit from a portable anti-aircraft missile system Stinger
On June 19, Izvestia correspondent Semyon Eremin showed the work of the military to calculate the positions of Ukrainian militants and strikes against the enemy. He noted that the so-called rapid fire, which is conducted from a mortar in the area of Avdiivka, means good targeting and accurate hit of shells on target.
On June 15, Izvestia correspondent Alexander Safiulin showed footage of the work of the air defense system (air defense) on the outskirts of Donetsk. It is noted that the air defense systems worked at the exit from the city in the direction of Elenovka.
The special operation of the Russian Federation to protect the population of the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics continues in the Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24. Moscow explained that its tasks include demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. On April 19, the Russian side announced the beginning of the next stage of the military operation — "the complete liberation of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics."
The situation in the region significantly worsened in mid-February due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. The authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics announced the evacuation of residents to Russia and appealed to Moscow for help. On February 21, the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree recognizing the independence of the DPR and LPR.
