MOSCOW, June 20 — RIA Novosti. By the end of 2022, Rosgvardiya will formulate technical requirements for the development of a serial version of the promising Marker robot, first it will patrol critical facilities, and then catch and suppress drones, a source in the military—industrial complex told RIA Novosti.

"Now we are working out the capabilities and limitations of the "Marker" in the interests of Rosgvardiya. According to its results, the customer must indicate the requirements for the tasks necessary for him, on the basis of which the technical task for carrying out development work will be formulated. By the end of 2022, the technical specifications for creating a robot in the interests of this department should be received," the source said.

The interlocutor of the agency noted that this work began in the spring after the "Marker" aroused keen interest among the leadership of the Rosgvardiya at the profile exhibition "Expotechnostrage-2022" in St. Petersburg.

"At the first stage, Rosgvardiya is interested in, let's say, the "monotonous" functionality of the robot — patrolling around the perimeter of the object. The second stage is the use of "Markers" with a special load. Here, too, you need to understand that so far we are not talking about lethal weapons, but, for example, means of intercepting and countering drones, including all kinds of grids and electronic warfare systems," the source said.

The robotic complex "Marker" was developed with the participation of the Foundation for Advanced Research. The platform has a mass of about 3 tons, can be equipped with various weapons. The development has the most advanced autonomous movement skills in Russia with object recognition based on artificial intelligence technologies. The platform's autonomy is ensured by a modular multispectral vision system, in which data processing is carried out by neural network algorithms. In three years, key technologies were created, as well as two wheeled and three tracked autonomous platforms equipped with a unified payload module and a cluster launch module for unmanned aerial vehicles.
