MOSCOW, June 19 — RIA Novosti. The new modification of the anti-aircraft missile system "Tor" will receive double ammunition, said Vyacheslav Kartashov, assistant Director General of the manufacturer "Dome" on the air of the program "Military acceptance" on the TV channel "Zvezda".

He explained that the plant has now started developing a new module, which implements technical solutions developed in the Arctic.

"We will use doubled ammunition. We will use the software that we have tested when shooting at a low-flying target. Well, a new, lightweight hull will be created — this is the only air defense system today that can be transported by helicopter on an external suspension," Kartashov said.

"Tor" is a tactical anti—aircraft missile system designed for air defense at the divisional level during combat operations and on the march, protection of communication nodes, command posts and other facilities. It can shoot down planes, helicopters, radio-controlled missiles, adjustable and planning aerial bombs, drones and other elements of modern precision weapons.

Since its adoption in 1986, the Tor has already undergone three waves of deep upgrades that have dramatically increased its combat capabilities, and work on improvement continues continuously.
