Argentina will buy American CH-47 Chinook helicopters instead of the Russian Mi-26, Defense News reports, citing military sources in Buenos Aires.
According to the publication, the Latin American country plans to purchase four aircraft. The publication notes that Argentina had previously studied the possibility of buying Russian helicopters, but abandoned these intentions because of their maneuverability and size.
According to Defense News, Buenos Aires sent a request to Washington for the purchase of the CH-47 Chinook.
