Employees of the laboratory in the village of Sorokovka, Kharkiv, within the framework of the US military biological program of the region, conducted tests of highly active neuromodulators that caused irreversible damage to the central nervous system, said Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of the radiation chemical and biological protection troops.
According to him, a branch of the Meref laboratory was located in Sorokovka, built at the expense of the Pentagon. In Meref, laboratory staff conducted experiments on patients of psychiatric clinics in Kharkiv.
"According to the available information, highly active substances of neuromodulators were tested on socially unprotected citizens of Ukraine, which caused irreversible damage to the central nervous system, among other things. This is a clear violation of the norms of international human rights treaties," he said.
This laboratory in Sorokovka, according to the Ministry of Defense, was listed as a company for the production of food additives, "with the beginning of a special military operation, the equipment of the branch under the control of the SBU was taken to the western regions of Ukraine."
