During a special military operation in Ukraine, repair units of the Russian Armed Forces successfully restore and repair equipment in the field. The commander of the repair company of armored vehicles Arseny told about the repair of the heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A "Solntsepek". His words are quoted by "Red Star".
It is noted that the Russian military has deployed points of repair and restoration of equipment. Special attention is paid to the equipment of troops that operate at a considerable distance from temporary deployment points. Repair units can carry out restoration work of any complexity.
Military personnel perform tasks in several shifts, which allows them to operate around the clock. As the newspaper notes, the repair company of armored vehicles returned to service the TOS-1A "Solntsepek" in less than a day.
"An oil tube broke in the engine, resulting in the so-called oil starvation. The car had to be put back into operation as soon as possible. Therefore, we decided to replace the engine. It took less than a day to work," the company commander said.
During the shift, the repairmen of the Western Military District return to service several dozen units of military equipment for various purposes on wheeled and tracked chassis.
In February, 19FortyFive columnist Brent Eastwood called the heavy flamethrower system TOS-1 "Pinocchio" the most powerful non-nuclear weapon in Russia.
