The German concern Rheinmetall has restored part of the Marder infantry fighting vehicles promised to Kiev, the equipment is fully ready for shipment to Ukraine. This statement was made by the CEO of the concern Armin Papperger.

Answering the questions of a journalist from the German edition of Bild regarding the deliveries of the Marder infantry fighting vehicles promised to Kiev, Papperger explained that the concern's enterprises are working on the restoration and modernization of infantry fighting vehicles removed from storage. In total, about 100 cars will be upgraded. Some of them are already ready to be sent to Ukraine and are just waiting for the decision of the German government.

We are in the process of repairing 100 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, the first vehicles are already ready. When and where they should be delivered is up to the federal government to decide

The Ukrainian ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk has already responded to Papperger's interview, once again demanding that Berlin immediately send the upgraded infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine. At the same time, he called the German government a "traffic light", and what is happening in the Donbas is Russia's "extermination war" against Ukraine.

Earlier, the German government had well-founded fears that Ukraine would use German tanks and infantry fighting vehicles to invade the territory of Russia. Currently, all deliveries of heavy equipment to Kiev are frozen.
