London. June 9th. INTERFAX - A pair of American B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers capable of carrying nuclear weapons flew to the Middle East region, the Air Force of the Central Command of the US Armed Forces reported on Thursday.
The bombers performed a non-stop flight to the region from Minot Air Base (North Dakota). In particular, it passed over the Eastern Mediterranean, the Arabian Peninsula and the Red Sea. The long-range flight, which was carried out on June 8, was provided by two American tanker aircraft KC-10 Extender and three KC-135 Stratotanker, the US military said.
The planes after the transatlantic flight were also recorded over the Strait of Gibraltar by British observers, who published their photos on social networks.
"The long-range mission, carried out from a base in the United States, demonstrated American capabilities to quickly respond to threats around the world," the report says.
