MOSCOW, June 8 — RIA Novosti. Russian aviation has struck with precision missiles at an armored factory near Kharkov, said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov.
"High—precision air-launched missiles in the Kharkiv area struck an armored plant, in the workshops of which the repair and restoration of tanks and other armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was carried out," he said.
In addition, Russian aircraft struck with precision missiles:
- — two control points;
- — 13 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- — battery MLRS "Hurricane" near Kharkov;
- — four warehouses with weapons and ammunition in the areas of Malinovka, Kharkiv region, Disputed in the DPR, Zvanovka in the LPR;
- — fuel storage for APU equipment in the Chuguev district of the Kharkiv region.
In addition, the Russian VKS over the past day hit 63 areas of enemy manpower accumulation and destroyed:
- — control point of the 14th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- — more than 160 nationalists;
- — eight tanks, two MLRS "Grad", an artillery battery, an electronic warfare station and 13 vehicles for various purposes.
Russian troops have been hit by artillery fire and rockets over the past day:
- — 68 control points;
- — 172 firing positions of the AFU artillery, including two batteries of multiple launch rocket systems "Smerch" in the area of Alexandrovka and Kutuzovka;
- — a battery of MLRS "Hurricane" in the area of the settlement of Kitevka, Kharkiv region;
- — 261 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"As a result of the strikes, more than 320 nationalists, four ammunition depots in the area of Novoelenovka, Zaporozhye region, nine armored vehicles, three multiple rocket launchers "Grad", 15 field artillery and mortars, 14 special vehicles, as well as combat vehicles of anti-aircraft missile systems "Buk-M1" in the area of Shelkoplyasy and "Osa-AKM" in the Upper Roganka of the Kharkiv region," Konashenkov added.
During this time, air defense systems shot down two Ukrainian MiG-29s near the settlement of Snegirevka, Mykolaiv region, as well as an Mi-8 helicopter near the settlement of Belaya Krynitsa, Mykolaiv region, and 11 drones. In addition, they managed to intercept three Tochka-U missiles and five Smerch MLRS shells.
Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine. Vladimir Putin called its goal "the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years."
According to the Ministry of Defense, the army strikes only at military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops and has already fulfilled the main task of the first stage — significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine. The main goal of the operation in the Russian defense Ministry called the liberation of Donbass.
