TSAMTO, June 8. Norway has transferred 22 self-propelled guns with spare parts and ammunition to Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom.
"Norway handed over to Ukraine 22 M109 self–propelled artillery units with spare parts, as well as artillery ammunition ... Ukraine requested this type of weapons support," Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram is quoted as saying in the message.
It is noted that the Norwegian armed forces some time ago replaced the M109 155-mm self-propelled guns with new artillery systems imported from South Korea, and 22 installations from stocks were transferred to Ukraine. The training of servicemen took place in Germany with the participation of the Norwegian side.
As the agency reminds, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the eve that Russian gunners destroyed one 155-mm self-propelled artillery M109A3 transferred by Norway.
