Any mention of the T-62M tanks in Ukraine for some reason causes an inadequate reaction from all sorts of "experts". They probably do not know that in many characteristics these armored vehicles are superior to the same T-72M APU supplied by Poland.
For example, Russian tanks can hit targets with laser-guided missiles. At the same time, the mounted dynamic protection "Contact" will not help the enemy. Recall that the flight range of the TOUR included in the ammunition is 4000 meters.
The T-62M, unlike the base model, received an additional multilayer booking of the hull and turret. The mine protection of the bottom has been significantly strengthened on the tank.
They showed themselves quite well in Syria, where the fighters preferred the "sixty-second" to the old "seventy-second". For example, they are less susceptible to ammunition explosions. Simpler and more maintainable.
If necessary, they will be able to provide good support to the infantry, sometimes replacing old self-propelled artillery installations like 2S1 "Carnation" when firing direct fire.
Therefore, do not underestimate the T-62M, they will still cause a lot of problems to neo-Nazi formations.
