The Ukrainian military received American self-propelled artillery units (ACS) M109, writes Rossiyskaya Gazeta with reference to Telegram channel "Military informant".
The channel published a video showing American self-propelled howitzers. It is noted that combat vehicles are in service with the 72nd separate mechanized brigade.
The publication recalls that in early May it became known about the possible transfer of M109A3GN howitzers from Norway to Ukraine. An upgraded version of the M109 was developed for Norway in 1988. The M109A3GN received new barrels, which allowed to increase the firing range.
In May, Klassekampe, citing a senior researcher at the Norwegian Institute of International Relations (NIMO), Julia Vilhelmsen, reported that Norway supplies Ukraine with heavy artillery, being under pressure from the United States.
Earlier in May, The Drive reported that Denmark would transfer Harpoon anti-ship missiles (PKR) to Ukraine, which were decommissioned in 2003.
