Rocket troops and artillery struck the hangar of the Okean shipyard in Nikolaev, destroying the armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced on Monday, May 30, by the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov.
"As a result of an artillery strike on a hangar on the territory of the Okean shipyard in the city of Mykolaiv, more than 15 Ukrainian tanks and infantry fighting vehicles and five large—caliber artillery pieces were destroyed," he said at a briefing.
In addition, four installations of the BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket system, 46 units of weapons and military equipment, as well as an ammunition depot in the Novomikhailovka area of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) were destroyed.
During the day, nine Ukrainian rockets of the Smerch multiple launch rocket system were also intercepted in the areas of several settlements of the Kharkiv and Kherson regions.
Earlier on Monday, the Ministry of Defense published footage of the work of army aviation on escort and air cover. The crews of the CVO helicopters provide support for railway and automobile columns from the air. Combat vehicles of Russian pilots are equipped with small-gun weapons, as well as unguided aircraft missiles. They, in particular, eliminate Ukrainian drones, regardless of their size and configuration.
Russia continues the special operation to protect Donbass, which President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24. The key goals of the Russian military are denazification and demilitarization of the Kiev regime. This is necessary to ensure the security of the Russian state and people. Moscow also stressed that the strikes are carried out only on military infrastructure.
