On May 29, Izvestia correspondent Mary Badunts showed the work of the Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle on a special operation to protect Donbass.
According to her, the unmanned aerial vehicle is compact, stable, completely invisible to the enemy's air defense.
Before departure, the UAV is inspected and equipped. "Orlan" can be in the sky for about 8 hours, and it does not matter what weather conditions, the journalist reported.
"The Orlan-10 drone. It is considered the best in the world. The flight range is more than 100 kilometers. First of all, it is, of course, for intelligence. But if necessary, he can not only direct artillery at targets, but also hit them himself," Badunts said.
The correspondent witnessed the reconnaissance mission of the "Eagle". In the process, the drone detected heavy equipment and fortified the AFU. He recorded all the data and transmitted it to earth. Under the gun is the new equipment that Ukraine received from NATO.
When the coordinates were received and verified, artillery came into play. The MLRS "Hurricane" moved into the field. It took a couple of minutes to deploy the MLRS. Moments after aiming at the target, it is destroyed.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation published footage of the combat work of the calculations of 203-mm self-propelled artillery units "Malka", which are actively used during the special operation to protect Donbass. It is noted that the artillery units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation perform firing tasks to defeat the firing positions of artillery and anti-aircraft missile systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), strong points, control points and areas of concentration of Ukrainian military equipment.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure Russia's security. The decision was made against the background of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
