MOSCOW, May 27/ Radio Sputnik. Russia has data on 10 military biological projects of the Pentagon in Ukraine, which provided for work with pathogens of particularly dangerous and economically significant infections, said the head of the radiation, chemical and biological protection troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov.

"Before you are official documents confirming the organization of work by the Pentagon in the person of the Office for Threat Reduction of the US Department of Defense (DTRA), which have a clear military-biological orientation," he quotes Kirillova RIA Novosti.

He drew attention to the memorandum prepared by the Pentagon Chief's office concerning the UP-2 project on mapping particularly dangerous pathogens on the territory of Ukraine.

"The document notes that the main task of this project is to collect information on the molecular composition of pathogens characteristic of Ukraine and transfer samples of strains," said the head of the RCBZ troops.

Kirillov added that as part of the "Joint Threat Reduction Program", foreign experts implemented the UP-4 project in Ukraine.

In particular, virologists investigated the possibility of spreading particularly dangerous infections through migrating birds.

"The documents received indicate that 991 biological samples were collected only during the period from November 2019 to January 2020," the Lieutenant General added.

In total, the Russian side "has information about ten similar projects (including UP-3, UP-6, UP-8, UP-10), which provided for work with pathogens of particularly dangerous and economically significant infections: Congo-Crimean fever, leptospirosis, tick-borne encephalitis, African swine fever, Kirillov stressed.

In addition, American instructors trained the personnel of biological laboratories in Ukraine to respond urgently to outbreaks of smallpox, this fact was established during a military special operation, said the head of the RHZB troops.

In the reports on their biological research compiled for the UN, the United States and Ukraine did not mention joint work in this area, Igor Kirillov drew attention.

According to him, Poland and Germany also did not declare cooperation with Ukraine in their reports.

Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that Russia would demand explanations from the United States on the activities of biological laboratories in Ukraine.
