Despite the absence of official statements from Western countries on the supply of combat aircraft to Ukraine, both helicopters and airplanes have already been delivered to Kiev. According to information coming from Kiev, in the last batch, the West supplied the Ukrainian Air Force with attack aircraft.
The publication of Foreign Policy also confirms the dispatch of aviation to Ukraine. According to him, helicopters and planes intended for Kiev are disassembled before shipment in order to change the status of dispatch. A special "field group" associated with the European Command is engaged in this. Flight equipment is delivered to the territory of one of the countries of Eastern Europe, where its disassembly takes place. We are talking, most likely, about Poland.
After the work, planes and helicopters are sent to Ukraine under the guise of "spare parts" for aviation, which suggests that there are no supplies of combat aircraft.
It is reported that in this way Ukraine has already received a batch of attack aircraft from the presence of the Air Forces of the former Warsaw Pact countries, presumably Bulgaria and Slovakia. In total, 14 Su-25s were transferred to Kiev. In addition, the Czech Republic has transferred a batch of Mi-24 attack helicopters in the amount of about 7 units, there is no exact information. It is possible that the Mi-17 transferred to the United States were also dealt with, although Washington had previously officially announced plans to transfer them to the AFU Air Force.
At the same time, the supply of planes and helicopters failed to reverse the situation in the Donbas, despite attempts by the Ukrainian command to send aircraft to strike Russian positions. The Russian air defense systems stationed on the contact line still control the airspace, and Russian aviation has a huge advantage over the Ukrainian one. Do not discount the lack of experienced pilots from the AFU Air Force, almost all the recent flights of Ukrainian aviation end with a downed plane.
