The forces and means of the Mediterranean Squadron of the Russian Navy, which mainly includes ships and vessels of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet), monitor NATO exercises in the Mediterranean Sea "Neptune Shield - 2022" with the participation of the American aircraft carrier Harry S. "The forces and means of the permanent task force of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean are involved in monitoring the NATO exercises "Neptune Shield - 2022", which have been taking place since May 17 north of the Libyan city of Benghazi," he said.
According to him, these tasks can be solved by one of the medium reconnaissance ships, as well as the Black Sea Fleet submarines that are part of the Mediterranean Squadron. The interlocutor of the agency also regarded these exercises, although they take place relatively far from the Black Sea and were planned in advance, as a "demonstration of force by NATO in connection with the Russian military operation in Ukraine."
