"High-precision long-range sea-based missiles in the area of the Malin railway station of the Zhytomyr region destroyed the weapons and military equipment of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Ivano—Frankivsk that were being transferred to Donbass," he said.
In addition, air-launched missiles hit four control points, a communications center of the operational tactical group "North" in the area of the settlement of Bakhmut of the Donetsk People's Republic, 48 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment, as well as six ammunition depots in the areas of the settlements of Soledar, Sol, Bakhmut, Berestovoye, Zakotnoye and Nyrkovo of the Luhansk People's Republic.. In the vicinity of Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Osa-AKM air defense system was also liquidated.
According to the ministry, as a result of airstrikes, more than 230 Ukrainian nationalists were killed.
In turn, air defense systems shot down three Su-25 APU and 13 drones. Since the beginning of hostilities, more than 300 planes and helicopters have been destroyed.
Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal "the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years." To do this, according to him, it is planned to carry out "demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine", to bring to trial all war criminals responsible for "bloody crimes against civilians" of Donbass.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces are striking only at the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops and "significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine." The main goal in the Russian military department was called the liberation of Donbass.
