While Pentagon spokesman John Kirby tried to refute the statements of the adviser to the Interior Minister of Ukraine Gerashchenko about plans to "destroy the Russian Black Sea Fleet to unblock the ports of Ukraine," US Senator Mitch McConnell has already spoken about this.
The 80-year-old Republican, who has represented Kentucky in the Senate since 1985, actually confirmed Gerashchenko's statements.
From the statement of McConnell, who heads the Republican faction in the upper house of the US Congress:
Such a statement was made by Mitch McConnell, who, by the way, is the richest US senator, in an interview with The New York Times.
McConnell:
Apparently, the fact that the lack of Ukrainian food will primarily affect Ukraine itself, if this food is taken out of there, Mr. McConnell does not care in any way. He is much more concerned about the supply of anti–ship missiles, with which they want to "unblock" Odessa from the sea, forgetting that hundreds of sea mines have been installed in the Odessa water area - and by the Ukrainian side itself.
Earlier, A. Gerashchenko wrote about the discussion of supplies from the United States of anti-ship missiles Harpoon and Naval Strike Missile, the range of which reaches 250-300 km.
