The Czech Republic supplied the armed formations of Ukraine with a batch of wheeled self-propelled artillery units vz.77 Dana. As reported, the calculations have already begun to master this military equipment.
Judging by the videos, the APU received an initial modification created in the second half of the 70s. Currently, according to many tactical and technical characteristics, it can already be considered obsolete.
For example, the maximum firing range of conventional high-explosive shells reaches 18700 - 20,000 meters.
It is noted that the rate of fire for half an hour can be maintained at the level of three shots per minute. The crew is 5 people. For stability during the use of the howitzer, three supports are used (two on the sides, one in the stern).
The four-axle Tatra - 815 all-terrain vehicle was used as the platform on which the ACS was designed. The diesel engine power is 345 hp. The maximum speed on the highway is 80 km/h. The fuel reserve is 650 km.
Dana has armor protection with a thickness of 12 mm. A 12.7 mm anti-aircraft machine gun DShKM is mounted on the tower. Combat weight - 29250 kg.
Interestingly, in 2020, it was reported that Ukrspetsexport signed a contract for the supply of 24 upgraded DANA-M2, which have a number of improvements, including a modified cockpit, a more advanced automated guidance system. However, apparently, it was not possible to implement this deal.
