TSAMTO, May 20. Building up capabilities to ensure and protect national interests in the world Ocean is vital for Russia against the background of the total hybrid war of the collective West being waged against it.
This, as RIA Novosti reports, was stated at a meeting of the Maritime Board at the Admiralty by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov.
"In the conditions of a total hybrid war of the collective West against our country, unprecedented sanctions and a special military operation in Ukraine, ensuring security is more relevant than ever... It is vital for us to build up our capabilities to ensure and protect national interests in the oceans. The adjustment of the Naval Doctrine takes into account the changing geopolitical and military-strategic situation in the world," RIA Novosti quotes Yu.Borisov.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, fundamentally new provisions of the doctrine relate to mobilization training and mobilization readiness in the field of maritime activities.
"What is especially important now is that all these measures will ensure the commissioning of civilian vessels and crews into the Navy, the functioning of marine infrastructure facilities in wartime," he explained.
It is also noted that the new version of the doctrine fully responds to modern challenges and threats and is aimed not at confrontation, but at improving national security in the field of maritime activities, significantly reducing the dependence of all areas of maritime activity on external influence and conjuncture.
