The Vietnamese military, carrying out extensive modernization of the country's armed forces, are making attempts, sometimes very successful, to create their own combat systems. At the same time, they largely rely on proven products, which, in particular, is caused by a rather thrifty attitude to the available material.
One of the new developments of the Vietnamese defense industry has become a remote-controlled combat module (DUBM), in which the combat unit is represented by Russian systems. On the local QPVN resource, footage was shown showing DUBM in different variations and on various combat platforms, which indicates the possibility of its use from both land and sea carriers.

The 12.7-mm NSV-12.7 "Utes" machine gun, the launchers of the Igla-S anti-aircraft missile system appear as weapons of destruction. In case of malfunction of the electric drive, the DBM can be controlled manually. Apparently, the new product is supposed to equip a wide range of combat platforms – from small robotic complexes to Navy ships.
As explained in the VietDefense publication, the first prototype of this DUBM was demonstrated by state media back in 2017:
