The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation showed footage of the combat work of the calculations of multifunctional unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) "Orlan-10" of the Western Military District, performing tasks during the Russian special military operation in the Donbass.
It is noted that the Orlan-10 UAVS carry out reconnaissance flights for further coordination and coordination of actions of various types of military equipment, including in the conditions of interference of electronic warfare (EW) of the enemy.
Drones constantly record and broadcast to control points the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and radical nationalist groups.
"We perform a lot of tasks. We are conducting aerial reconnaissance. We detect targets. We transmit the coordinates to the gunners. They, in turn, adjust artillery fire," said Yevgeny, a serviceman of the unmanned aviation service.
According to him, with the help of UAVs, targeted strikes are also carried out on enemy positions. Four high-explosive shells are suspended on the Orlan-10. Each projectile hits targets within a radius of 10 m.
"We can use four projectiles at once. It all depends on the nature of the goal. We can also drop one shell at a time," Evgeny clarified.
The drone conducts reconnaissance around the clock, for this it is equipped with various optical devices and a thermal imager.
"The Orlan-10 combat UAV takes off when there are coordinates of the enemy's location. Our tasks are to detect the enemy, adjust fire, provide communications, as well as defeat point targets from an attack drone," said Sergey, a technician of the Orlan—10 UAV.
Drones are also used to monitor the movement of military equipment, camouflaged command posts and firing points, as well as new enemy fortified areas.
At the same time, the Eagles are monitoring the corridors for the removal of refugees, as well as the roads along which convoys with humanitarian aid are moving.
On the eve of the correspondent of "Izvestia" Kirill Olkov showed the work of Su-25 "Grach" attack aircraft, which provide cover for the ground forces and strike at the points of the AFU at the entrance of the military special operation. The Su-25 is equipped with powerful weapons of various calibers and purposes. For example, guided and unguided missiles. There are up to 30 types of weapons in the arsenal. For Ukrainian air defense, "Rooks" are literally invisible.
