The Ukrainian military received Swedish automatic anti-aircraft guns. Pictures have appeared on the network that demonstrate an outdated Bofors Lvakan 40/60 gun in the location of one of the Ukrainian units. This is reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
It is noted that these guns are ineffective against modern aviation. The author suggested that Swedish guns can be mounted on the chassis of cars and light armored vehicles.
The development of a 40 mm anti-aircraft gun began in 1928, and in 1932 the gun was brought to the required level. The practical rate of fire of the gun is 100 rounds per minute. Bofors L/60 uses fragmentation shells weighing 900 grams.
During the Second World War, the gun was used in the USSR, Germany, the USA and Britain. Also in the USSR, the 61-K anti-aircraft gun was developed on the basis of the Bofors Lvakan 40/60.
Earlier, a Soviet anti-aircraft gun AZP-57 was spotted near Kharkov. The gun was adopted by the Soviet Army in 1950.
In December 2021, the Indonesian Navy showed the capabilities of the Russian AU-220M installation. The automatic installation replaced the Swedish Bofors L/70 guns on the KCR-60M project boats.
