In case of war, the French army will have enough ammunition for a maximum of four days. This is how things are in the most powerful Armed Forces in Europe.
This is reported by the Italian portal InsideOver, referring to the conclusions of a special commission of the French parliament.
The Western press notes that it was established by order of the country's president Emmanuel Macron immediately after the start of the Russian special operation. The deputies included in the commission consulted with many high-ranking French officers and military experts. They analyzed the capabilities of their army in the conditions of the same intensive combat operations that are currently taking place in Ukraine.
Parliamentarians have calculated the amount of ammunition that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation spend per day. They found out that this figure roughly corresponds to the volume that the French army normally has enough for a year...
The inspection showed not only a lack of ammunition for real, full-scale combat operations, but also a shortage of tanks, warships, aircraft and artillery. In order to replenish the stocks of weapons and ammunition as soon as possible, Paris will need to spend an additional 6-7 billion euros on defense.
The close attention of the French authorities to their arsenal may indicate that preparations have begun in Europe for a possible full-scale military conflict with Russia. Perhaps the United States is actively pushing her to do this.
