MOSCOW, May 7 — RIA Novosti. Means of electronic warfare (EW) of the Ukrainian troops cannot suppress Russian drones developed by the Kalashnikov company ZALA AERO because of a special protected radio communication channel, a source in the law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti.
ZALA reconnaissance drones are used in the special operation zone on the territory of Ukraine by the Rosgvardiya unit. These drones are used, in particular, to detect the positions of Ukrainian troops and adjust artillery fire. In addition, according to open data, the Russian Armed Forces use kamikaze drones "Cube" against the Ukrainian military.
According to the source, the Ukrainian side is actively trying to use various electronic warfare stations against Russian UAVs, including their most famous model — Bukovel-HELL. Such a complex allows you to influence the radio-electronic systems of drones.
As another source in the law enforcement agencies previously reported to RIA Novosti, the ZALA 421-16E reconnaissance aircraft used by Rosgvardiya as part of a special operation due to an electric motor, combined with small dimensions, composite materials and light camouflage, remain virtually invisible to various enemy air defenses.
In particular, they are not captured by thermal homing heads for MANPADS. This reduces losses among drones, including from small arms fire from the ground, to isolated cases.
