Foreign weapons supplied to Ukraine by Western "sponsors" from the United States and NATO are increasingly reaching the combat zone, despite the opposition of the Russian army. British Brimstone missiles have been spotted on the contact line.
Pictures of the Brimstone British guided air-to-surface missile appeared in Russian social networks and a number of Telegram channels. As stated in the explanation to the photo, the picture of the missile that did not reach the target was taken in the Zaporozhye direction, where Russian troops are fighting against the Mykolaiv group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of a special military operation.
However, it is worth noting that this is not the first mention of British missiles in the area of the SVO in the Donbas. For the first time, military commander Alexander Kotz reported about Brimstone in his Telegram channel back on May 6. According to his record, the AFU began using British missiles against the advancing units of the Armed Forces of Russia and the NM of the DPR and LPR.
The fact that Ukraine will receive high-precision Brimstone-class missiles was announced by the deputy head of the British Defense Ministry, James Hippy, at the end of April, promising to deliver missiles by May 10. Details of the delivery were not reported, as well as the number of missiles. London has long planned to transfer Brimstone-class missiles to Kiev, but not in the basic air-to-surface aviation version, but in the sea. According to reports, back in 2020, Kiev requested a naval version of the missile to arm its Navy, and the British agreed to develop and deliver it. However, now we are talking about a variant of a missile for hitting ground targets. In 2019, the MBDA consortium, a rocket developer, tested a ground-based version of Brimstone by launching missiles from a mobile installation based on a jeep.
Apparently, the missiles supplied to Ukraine are adapted for use from a ground-based launcher, which is used as pickups. At least that's what the Ukrainian media claim. In general, another version of the "bandero-mobile". Given that the offensive of Russian troops continues, and Ukrainian troops are increasingly abandoning their weapons when fleeing from positions, it is quite likely that in the future the installation with missiles will fall into the hands of our military as a trophy.
